Your support is appreciated and your donations are needed for this education to continue for all ALS clients and support for the caregivers that help them have a quality life.
Doug may have left us but he is not gone. His memory and assitance to research and education lives on.
ALS 360*
The Doug Tremlett Foundation
I want to thank the many, many people that have been donating and assisting us in so many ways. I especially want to thank the Dunleavy Foundation in Tewskbury MA. Their generous donations have been a huge support in keeping Doug’s care as consistent as possible during his 4 year struggle as we have experimented and found our winning combination.
The Community that loves and surrounds us is amazing and supportive. The fundraiser that took place on April 25, 2015 was so wonderful. Hundreds of people came out to celebrate their friend Doug. We want to take the time to say thank you and let you know how these funds were spent.
Funding went to pay for medical supplements, treatments and materials not covered under traditional medical insurance. We are also used part of the funding to purchase a medical massage chair for some of Doug’s in home alternative treatments and care. This high technology chair heats and nurtures the muscles and the air rollers stimulate the muscles. –With ALS the nerves wither and die, as they do the muscles stops receiving the stimulation they need to stay healthy which created muscle atrophy. We need to stop the atrophy of the muscles. In earlier treatment plans Doug was able to receive a diverse group of nerve and muscle stimulation in services at a treatment center. As the ALS progresses some of the services are no longer able to be performed due to breathing and other issues on the disease. The chair was a key piece to keeping his body moving for the long term. We continued to be supplement with chiropractic, neuromuscular, craniosacral, lymphatic massage, detoxification and biofeedback.
Many people have asked about the costs of treatments. On average the cost for the last 2 ½ years has been $2150 per month for alternative treatments, services and medical supplements.
We want thank to all the people who brought meals and spend time with Doug through the months. We created a schedule with the help of the ALS Caregivers. This gave time for Doug to be cared for and for Barb to continue to work until the last few months. So many, many people came visit and this program helps to keep the flow of friends and family varied and a consistency of coverage. This was just a fun time to share stories and share a time with their friend Doug. Thank you,Gary, Depak, Eric, John, John, Brian, Rob, Rockie, Rob, Patti, Beth, Leslie, Wayne, Cheri, Patty, Patti, Brent, and...
We want to thank give a specific thank you to the friends and family that have blessed us with our dreams vacations, experiences, special gifts and donation. With these special donations Doug and Barb crunched the next 20 years of seeing the world into a fast forward life, bring those experiences into the a 2 year period. These gifts include traveling to the Florida Keys, playing with the dolphins, enjoying wonderful sites and foods in Newport and being able to spending a week with our Grandson Pavel. The sparkle in Doug's eyes was just so rewarding to see. And you did that!
Life isn’t always what you expect it to be but, that doesn’t mean if it’s not what you want that you have to sit and take it. Let’s face it ALS sucks. But it is only a diagnosis. Doug doesn’t have to walk the ALS walk. It may not always be easy but we still had fun! We chose to make the best of it, enjoy life and smile any and every time we could. We are glad you could smile with us. Please love your friends and family and be at peace knowing that we traveled this road with you all lifting us up with your prayers and your love.
Thank you.
Peace be with you all on this journey of life.
Love you,
Barb

The original Start to the story! This was posted long ago but because it is the main story we decided to leave it to share with those trying to understand the whole picture.
Our beloved Doug; family man, friend, positive and hard working member of our community, was diagnosed with ALS in July 2012. He was essentially told he would die within a certain time frame and was sent home with no support or hope from the medical community. We decided this was unacceptable. The desicion was made to not publically announce it and to use the time to research the most prompt and healthy ways to stop the disease from progressing. A team of family and holistic health providers came together to create the initial version of the program. Doug was immediately given protocols and followed direction exactly. At his six month check up the doctor was perplexed; Doug had remained the same or improved in all teested categories. Overjoyed at the confirmation that our efforts are effective, we immediately aspired to help other individuals with ALS.
With the initial love and dedication to one man, the knowledge the human body can heal itself when provided with the correct resources, and the passion for helping those in need, ALS 360*; The Doug Tremlett Foundation has been created.
